Young couple Florie Brunet and Adrien Bariol established Domaine d’Ici La in 2017 ,enchanted by the rugged and mountainous landscape, the local grapes, and the possibility to make their mark on a lesser known appellation, yet one with immense potential as displayed throughout their range. Florie Brunet and Adrien Bariol met in the middle of the vineyards, each with their own wine-growing experience, but both with the desire to create an estate that resembles them: simple, warm and respectful of the world around them. They found their place in Southern Bugey, tucked into the mountains, the last foothills of the Jura. 100% Gamay from 40-year-old vines grown on glacial moraine soils. Grapes are fermented in whole bunches in stainless steel, then half are transferred to concrete for a brief aging period. The tanks are blended and bottled, unfiltered, with no SO2. A crunchy expression of Gamay from fantastic alpine vineyards in Bugey. It undergoes a short carbonic maceration and is juicy and fruit-forward, with serious elegance and precision. Clean yet very mineral finish.
