From the 1 ha that Ewald Kopp started with in 1996, the winery has grown to 32 hectares of selected vineyards in the best locations in the Ortenau region. Johannes Kopp took over the winery at the age of 22. Nestled in the picturesque Black Forest, Weingut Kopp has dedicated years to rediscovering and revitalizing the region’s finest vineyards. Their steep and impressive terroirs are primarily planted with white Burgundy varieties and Pinot Noir, using selection massale from Burgundy and their own vineyards. The historic monopole FEIGENWÄLDCHEN, an island-like vineyard in the Black Forest, features Riesling and a small plot of Spätburgunder. Embracing a holistic approach, Weingut Kopp integrates biodynamic methods and Highland cattle into their winemaking, enhancing the cultural landscape. Certified as biologically dynamic with the Demeter seal from 2022, they prioritize enjoyment with a culinary experience centered around regional products, including their own Highland cattle.
